documenting an imaginary girl

Cripes! It’s been so long I hardly remember what. Well, I guess this one is easy, I’m uh, ready for work.

I began my week one hour before the previous week’s deadline expired. I photographed a children’s story group at the library. Have I ever told you I love libraries and librarians?

Citizens who are active in the community make things happen. I photographed a set of people representing the groups who donated funds to create flower beds at the town’s arena. This church isn’t even at the arena but this is the photo I took to represent so here it is.

haha yeah. At the arena I locked my keys in my car. I was calling my old friends CAA and chatting to the arena manager when it came up that we bought the car locally (whew) and he suggested calling up the dealership. So, I did. It cost me twenty dollars instead of free but it was much faster and I didn’t want dude to have to stay at the arena when he had other places to be.

Business women’s breakfast! Was fun, and I dressed for it. What? I needed some reason to break out the pencil skirt.

Planning, planning, planning, so much effort goes into the events we enjoy.

Interview with the owner of a rad skin care product line. Well she has several lines and all kinds of product. She designs the stuff herself, employs women and uses top quality ingredients.

She gave me some treats! I chose Little Lamb lotion because, dude, it smells like a baby. I mean, really,that sweet, innocent yummy smell when you nuzzle a baby’s neck, that’s what it smells like. No baby powder scent or anything cliche, it is lovely. The lip balm is the best ever. ever.

My baby is such a good girl, I often bring her to (kid friendly)work with me.

When I mentioned my dear friend and I were to be shooting together (him halfway around  the world from me) she immediately offered to come with. It was chilly, she only lasted a few frames. I adore this photo.

Michael bought me this butterfly door knocker. I have it installed outside my bedroom. when I need to get away I shut my door and people use it to get inside.

I liked the contrast of the decorative and stark.

This guy asked me what I was doing snapping photos of everything in sight. I said “I take pictures of everything I do.” Later he passed by us again and I said, “I also take pictures of everything I don’t do.” oh haha I am such an embarassment. he loled.

So we got hungry and I asked Michael if he liked dessert. Ever the health nut he exclaimed YES! (he is such a fraud). I offered to treat him. We went back to the same place because I remembered their menu advertised they home-make their desserts. They were getting ready for dinner and we needed reservations but I said “Please Please we only want dessert, we’ll be gone by 6pm. We obvs got in. Everything was so good I tipped outrageously.

I treated myself to afternoon dessert, also. We shared and agreed that once again I pick the best menu items! The lemon was tres tart and the crust was buttery shortbread!

We drove to a museum and when I saw buses on the street I got so excited (HEY! I’ve been living in the country for 8 years!)and shouted, “Follow that BUS!” Ever the good sport Michael proceeded to drive after buses like a freaking lunatic until I got a shot I liked. “There’re two!”

Yes! you are right, we went in the spring! I adore crafty home-made things that are wonderful like this sign.

This is a terrible photo with lots of missing pixels but the point is this is where the music lives and this is what michael meant when he told me he loved to watch me take pictures.

There are quite a few cute vintage shops in Guelph. We didn’t go into this one. My mom has the red lamp on the right. She is a fan of glam decadence.

  here is Michael desperately (ggl) browsing books. I said to him he had to buy a book… I added some vague threat idk what but it was menacing! he did buy a book.

My haul. I lovelovelove to give presents. I often see things i wish i could buy for others but can’t afford but sometimes I can afford and when I can i do. I bought mostly everything for me -lovelove munro- she won the bookerprize, did you know? I also love chekov and on a whim I picked up the John Osbourne -fab, and I found out later he is a big deal in England for having modernized the theatre. The photog book looks fab I haven’t even opened it yet but I am going to tomorrow. Pat the Bunny book is olivia’s, forever rose is for chloe and I bought On a Cold Road for John… it is about touring in Canada.

Because of the snow and wind and twisty blow-the-PT-Cruiser-off-the-highway roads, I drove the intrepid. I thought I was being very smart. Then the gages GAVE OUT. Even though the numbers were gone I figured there was still same amount of gas in the tank as when the numbers were there to measure. hah! Daring. Then I drove with traffic, pulled into the designated lot, called my husband and greeted Michael with “What are you doing?” because he was standing around all awkward. Poor Michael. Michael didn’t pay for my parking! I was kinda bitchy about it. THAT SHOWED HIM! PS. When it is the weekend I don’t think leaving your house at the time you were supposed to arrive counts as late. very very very colourful No really bathroom flash & poster art so good so good, spinach, sun-dried tomato tart with feta… Michael agrees I pick the best things on the menu to order. It’s a foodie fat gift. I had a veggie lunch. Michael says he’s a veggie but he eats meat. I laugh and laugh. He says he tries.
